school for cool: the tiny muse version

DO YOU EVER GO THROUGH PHASES WHERE YOU FEEL LIKE ALL YOUR MOTIVATION AND CREATIVE JUICES DRY UP? BECAUSE THAT'S EXACTLY HOW I'VE BEEN FEELING THESE PAST FEW WEEKS, WHICH IS THE REASON THAT I HAVEN'T BEEN POSTING ON THE REG, AS (REGULARLY) PROMISED. I'M TRYING TO GET MY HEAD BACK IN THE GAME, STARTING WITH THESE FUN LITTLE EDITS OF OUTTAKES FROM MY FEATURE IN THIS MONTH'S STATUS MAGAZINE. YOU CAN FIND THE FULL ISSUE ON THEIR WEBSITE FOR FREE. FLIP TO PAGE 100 TO SEE ME TALKING ABOUT A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS.

old cool

I'M BACK FROM THE DEAD -- UNI APPLICATIONS HAVE BEEN SUCKING ALL THE FUN OUT OF MY LIFE, BUT THEY'RE (FINALLY) ALL DONE AND DUSTED SO I CAN GET BACK TO SPRUCING THIS SPACE UP. I KNOW I ALWAYS EMPHASIZE HOW LOW MAINTENANCE MY APPROACH TO BLOGGING IS, BUT I WANT TO TRY POSTING MORE OFTEN, SAY ONCE A WEEK. LET'S SEE HOW LONG I CAN KEEP THIS STREAK UP. (EDIT: REGULAR PROGRAMMING WILL COMMENCE IN 2016)

THIS OUTFIT IS INSPIRED BY LAID-BACK, VINTAGE COOL. I'VE BEEN IN LOVE WITH SOME PIECES THAT I FOUND LOOKING THROUGH MY MOM'S BASEMENT BINS, ESPECIALLY THE MAX MARA SHIRT SEEN BELOW.

IN CASE YOU'RE LOOKING FOR SOME FINDS OF YOUR OWN, I'D RECOMMEND RAIDING YOUR LOCAL THRIFT SHOP (THE BEST UKAY-UKAYS IMO ARE IN MAKATI CINEMA SQUARE) OR PARENT'S CLOSET, LIKE I DID. IF YOU WISH TO GO THE ONLINE ROUTE; NASTY GAL JUST RELEASED THEIR NEWEST VINTAGE GOLDMINE (WARNING: $$$) AND HAVE AN AFTER PARTY LINE MADE OUT OF VINTAGE FABRICS. FOR BARGAINS, CHECK ETSY.

love thing

Shooting this little lookbook has left me lusting for freedom and positive vibes - things that are pretty hard to imagine when you're slugging through work during exam season. I'm taking a break to time travel for a bit - this is my (pastel-infused, in Tiny Muse tradition) take on the trending 70s era.

P.S. If you didn't get it, today's blog title is an ode to the fictional band Stillwater, off Cameron Crowe's Almost Famous

Ribbed crop from Glassons, jeans + sunglasses from Topshop, sandals from Urban Outfitters, coat from River Island

Crochet top from Shop Her, skirt from Zara

P.P.S. This look, along with some of my art, is featured in issue 2 of Sad Girl Magazine. I also talk about my favorite menswear picks from the SS15 shows.

carisse newsletter #1

These are some outtakes from a shoot I did last week for Carisse's *first* monthly newsletter, which I'm also the editor of !! It's no secret that I'm head over heels for just about everything Carmen designs, so naturally it was a dream working with her + the brand that I so firmly believe in. You can see the rest of the photos in the issue, enjoy!

All clothes c/o Carisse, shot by Carmen Araneta + styled by me

In this post I am wearing: the Cecilia dress, Lux sweater, Isabel top and Moana shorts.
Sunglasses from Sunnies Studios // daisy choker from Spinns Harajuku // shoes from Windsor Smith

november loves

I have so many ideas for this space that I'm not sure where to start, which is why everything's been a bit messy lately. I'm working on new projects/posts/collaborations and I can't wait to share them with you all, but for now here is a summary of what I've been up to and the things I'm into this month.

Sipping peach jelly, wearing an American Apparel top and Carisse shorts
I stopped by the STATUS x Security Bank Yardsale last week to support Carisse's booth. Pictured below are the Beetroot bra and Carisse goodies I picked up, along with a drawing and my favorite Lush lip balm in 'Honey Trap'. I love Carisse's Moana set; it's one of those throw-on-and-go pieces that instantly give you that effortlessly cool aura.

Hanging around in the Moana set

I also bought this jacket at Uniqlo the other week for my impending trip to Europe (I don't care at all that I kind of resemble a human blanket).

Lastly, these are some portraits that I'm working on for school coursework of my sister. I did a watercolor painting based on a photograph I distorted on Photoshop, then scanned it back onto my computer and layered different gradients combinations over it.

I hope you're all as excited as I am for all the new things coming :--)
